As a Specialist Sports College since 2001, sports opportunities at The Hayesbrook School are stronger than ever in terms of opportunities and results.
We enter a broad variety of competitions throughout the year and have enjoyed fantastic results so far in 2015, with the U18, U14 and U13 football teams winning the Kent Cup, and the U15 and U16 reaching the semi-finals.
Other than football, we have a developing rugby school and boys have been selected to take part in Kent School Athletics Championships. We run handball teams, basketball, cricket, tennis and athletics throughout the year - and take part in regular fixtures against other schools in the surrounding areas.
Previous and current students are supported and encouraged to follow whatever sporting aspirations they may have. Some have achieved elite levels of success in thier chosen disciplines, with one student representing Great Britain at powerlifting; another student has been capped for England U16 Rugby, and is part of the Saracens Club youth development squad, and two brothers are attached to the British Cycling development squad, and achieving National Champion status in Cyclo-Cross.
The facilities at The Hayesbrook School are high quality - as you would expect from an academy with a sports specialist status. We have an extensive hard court multi-use games area, three netball courts and four tennis courts and four outdoor basketball courts. We are also extremely fortunate enough to be able to boast a full size FA approved 3rd generation astro turf football pitch. The 3G can also be adapted and used as three full size 7-a-side pitches.
The Hayesbrook School also has badminton courts in the Sports Hall with additional markings for a netball court, volleyball court and five a side football. Our brand new pavilion has two dance studios, modern changing facilities and a viewing room overlooking the 3G.
Thanks to it's strong community links with local clubs, Hayesbrook has one of the most well equipped cross-fit studios in the area. This space is used to aid the understanding of our pupils in regards to their knowledge of weight training and other aspects of health and fitness.
