Sports Report: Football - Year 7 vs. St Gregory's

The Hayesbrook Year 7 football team lost a very tight game on the evening of Thursday 16 November, at home to St Gregory's Catholic School.

With Hayesbrook soaking up a lot of pressure in the first half, Bradley did a fine job in goal and the team were determined to keep hold of their clean sheet and deserved to get into the break with the score goalless. Harry Thompson then came back in goal and Bradley went up top. Zayden managed to find some shin pads and bought some spark to the team in the second half, but Hayesbrook rarely threatened the St Gregs’ goal. Hayesbrook conceded a goal halfway through the second half but unfortunately couldn’t find an equaliser.

Luke Kempton had a good game at the back, but Mason O’Connor was given man of the match. He threw himself in front of each attack and was a rock at the back. The boys should be proud of their efforts, against a good St Gregs' side and will go into next week's game against Bennett looking to get forward more often and score that elusive goal!
